This is my second tutorial using PSP7. I found out about a neat effect using the inner bevel frame setting. Since I made quite a few screenshots again please be patient while the pics load.

If you have questions please don't hesitate to send me an e-mail.

But now let's go! :))

Open a new picture("File"/"New", 400x300 pixels, background white, resolution 150 p/inch.

new graphic

Set foreground colour to a middle dark yellow and background colour to a lighter yellow (see example).

Now activate the flood fill tool and set the styles setting (on the right, below the colour tab) to "gradient" by clicking on the little triangle and then on the gradient graphic.

Next click flat on the styles tab again to open the gradient window. On the right you see four buttons in the "style" area. Click on the second one. Then open the gradient dropdown menu on the left and click on "foreground/background" (#1 on the example) and click ok.

Click into your graphic to fill it with this gradient. Select the whole graphic by either using the CTRL+A shortkey or clicking "selection" / "select all" (part 1 of the illustration below).

Next click "selection" / "modify" / "contract" and set the value to 50. Click ok and the selection will look like part 2 of the example shown.

The last step for this selection is to invert the selection. You can use either SHIFT+CTRL+I or "selection" / "invert" to get there (part 3).

To get a frame-like looking effect into our frame selection click "effects" / "3d effects" / "inner bevel".
.
Use the dropdown menu in the top middle to get the setting "frame".
With a little trick this boring looking frame gets a kick: Go to the width setting (lower left) and change the setting from 12 to 30.

Click ok.

Use the CTRL+D hotkey to get rid of the selection and it'll look like the first of the two graphics below. If you want to give it the real finish keep the selection and add a drop shadow ("effects" / "3d effects" / "drop shadow"). Then it looks like the second of the following pics:

Stunning, isn't it?

Hints:
Try experimenting with the settings.
Another trick is to copy the finished frame selection (I mean don't use CTRL+D but CTRL+C) copy it as a new layer to any other psp graphic (CTRL+L).

This finishes the "Bevel Frames" Tutorial.
