![]() A feature of Paintshop Pro I really adore is the "Hot Wax Coating" effect. With its help you can achieve very natural looking chrome effects without needing any other tool. Before we start as always there's my invitation: If you have questions please don't hesitate to send me an e-mail. Let's go have some chrome! Before you start please set your fore- and background color to white. Open a new picture("File"/"New", 300x300 pixels, background white, foreground white, resolution 72 p/inch. ![]() Activate the text tool. ![]() Center the floating selection in your graphic window. ![]() Now click "Effects/Other/Hot Wax Coating". You won't see much but slight grey color inside the selection. Apply the effect another 5 to 6 times and you will get the result you see below. By pressing CTRL+D you get rid of the "marching ants". ![]() ![]() To give the graphic an even better finish you might want to add a drop shadow. For that please click "Image/Effects/Drop Shadow" and use the settings you see below.
![]() And this is what you get: ![]() This finishes the "Chrome Effect" tutorial.
